had to share this.... just scored a 090 in good shape for 20bucks

had it sitting in his shed for the past 10-15 years, 36"bar ripping chain on it

stopped by my friends place on the way home (couldnt wait to get home) to see if i could get it running... tanks were bone dry... tossed in some fuel and oil. good compression... started on the 5th pull.. woohoo this thing is a monster!

ill have to take it apart and give it a good cleaning but you can tell this tank wants to cut.

another addition to the collection i guess! ill see if i cna get a picture up

Not bad.

Good score!!! You're gonna love it, they are about the easiest saws to work on, total strip down in about 30 minutes. Get a flywheel puller from your local stihl dealer and hunt up some spare points and condensers for the future. Just bought a loop of ripping chain for a 37" bar (down here in Vanc) and it ran me just over 3 times what you paid for the whole thing... fr#!&in awesome!

so i scored another 090 last night, this one was a bit more money (150) and its in great shape ... except for a crack in the crank. electronics, cowlings, etc etc all good. the real reason i bought it was for the spare parts.. and the cannon 48" bar and new loop of chain and 2 new spare tips for the bar. ill get some pictures up in a week when i get home from xmas trip.

there are tonns of big saws sitting in people sheds around here from the falling days long past, i suppose the proper thing to do would be to buy them all up?

not interested in shipping across the border but if anyone in western canada is looking for a big saw i might have something for you.

so far i have got an 066(mint), 090(great) 090(not running but with great spares) husky 181 (great firewood saw) ... all for 500 bucks.

lots more i have come across in the 3-400 range

should i buy them all?

I got you beat....
090 with a 32"bar...................$17.50 at auction two months ago..

AND IT RUNS FINE
