I’ve had this poor saw for 4 years or so, got it with a bunch of others. I didn’t know if I’d sell or keep. I knew it had some scoring and was used hard. After my 034 build I had ordered some extra fuel lines and carb kits for that series. Decided to dig into the 036 and make a runner. Saw was never cleaned. Stripped it down, piston was scored. I cleaned up the bore no problem and cleaned the ports while it was apart. I did fuel and pulse lines, rebuilt the zama. The saw held vacuum so I left the seals alone. I put a meteor piston on with a set of caber rings. I used Honda bond in place of the base gasket. I didn’t do it for performance but because I was too impatient to get the gasket. It’s probably not much thinner and there’s room in the squish anyway. The plastics are sunburnt and stained and that’s after cleaning and 400 grit wet sand. Like I said this one didn’t have an easy life. I might put heat to them and see what happens. Compression shows just under 180 warm, this saw should have some punch. It runs and idles great. Test cuts will be soon.

Compression was good even with the scoring.
