We have a new 1890, 18" drum and it chips far better then its 280xp disc style counter part. I would assume that the diffrence in performance is the same with the 250xp and the new drum style 12" bandit makes.

Ya, i was reading about the 1890...what do they call it the Brute.

Seems like it a pretty boss chipper.

Mind if i ask what you guys paid for your knew 1890?? Just wondering.

Thanks

I just ordered a 1590 with a 140hp John Deere, winch, lots of goodies. Speced out at about 45k...........

Just off the top of my head the 1090 with an 80 hp cat. was around 27000 but lees than 30 weight was 6500 and the feed was about 115 feet per min.
I checked these out at TCIA so the info might be a little off. I look at a lot and got tons of info hope this is right and helps TOM

I've got the 1290h hydraulic fed drum, its a 2003 model and was a demo chipper. I bought it early in 2005 and it had 3 hours on it. I got it at a steal for 23k. As far as the winch cable goes you can get about 120 feet or thats what I can get on mine. I use 1/2 inch rope though. With 5/16 amsteel you could get a little more than that.

Wow...heck ya that is a steel.

So you took the cable off, and run 1/2 inch rope through it instead???

Awesome.

I sure hope NOT! Living less than 30 minutes from NASCAR central, we see WAY more #3's than we care to admit!

It didnt come with the winch, I took it back to the dealer and had the winch kit put on it. The winch didnt come with anything on it so i just used 1/2 inch rope. After I wear it out I think I'm gonna go with 5/16 amsteel.
