my local stihl dealer has a nice used 120 super for 225$. loved my makita 51 cc
miss it actually was wondering how this saw rates:chainsaw:

The 120 will be heavier, and more powerful, 68cc. It's a great saw. 225 isn't too bad, they sell for 150-180 usually on ebay, but you won't have to pay shipping if bought from the dealer, and will be able to run it and see it. Maybe you can get it for 200. It's a tough, powerful saw. A little behind a 440 in power, but it gives up 3cc.

It depends to an extent on what era of 120 super you are dealing with.Early
120 supers had a smallish fuel tank and a primer bulb on the tank owing to the problems with vapor lock. The most desirable 120's were the injection carb (SI) versions. They had an airbox to keep heat away from the carb,a very innovative so called injection carb, really an enrichening device which did
away with the choke butterfly and an aluminum flywheel for quicker acceleration. They also redesigned the combustion chamber shape to better cope with marginal quality fuels.

Just remember that Sachs-Dolmar 120 supers are now 20+ years old but they were a screamer with a cool powerband.
