I'm going to check out a 2008 Morbark Hurricane, single axle, 140hp CAT, 1100 hours. I have a 2006 Morbark twister 12 so I'm familiar with Morbarks but wondering if any one has any input on what to look for and if they have any known issues.

That is all we run, got several, our newest one is a 2015, look for cracks and missing bolts,
they vibrate everything to hell, everything else is good.
Jeff

thanks for the follow up. I'm actually going to pass on the machine, every thing about it is a little sketchy. Bought from an auction, hour meter broke...

We have a 15" 06, then not sure of the year but it is a 15" that has the bigger 4 blade drum and better upper feed wheel yoke the newer one has about 2500 hrs on it and hasn't shook itself apart yet. The 06 has over 6k hrs on it and we've been welding it back together since about the 4k mark. we've just about welded every weld on the chipper housing we had to put new gussets on to hold the cracks together... it's due to come in on the next rain day for another round of welding. It's gotten a few feed wheel bearings and a new drum shaft, catastrophic failure on the job.

As for the engine the 140hp deer shows no signs of slowing down we haven't had any major issues did a water pump after 5k hrs couple wiring issues mainly stuff that shook apart.
