I just picked this thing up. Anyone have experience with this model?
2011 Vermeer SC1152, 4x4, 110 hp Cummins, hydraulic/drive shaft cutting drive, 900 hours but it looks pretty clean.

Got a 2015 1152 ,....pure power and tourqe......no problems great service with dealer ..... and grinds the hell out of any size stumps,...simple remote,..Love it.

I'm not sure yet but I think we'll start it off at $65,000. I think they were over $100k new. Hydro, what did you pay for yours?
I don't think the hours are accurate. Seems high for the condition of the thing, should be considerably more worn.

They are expensive,........but you get a great machine,....looked at grinders for about a year,.....Vermeer came out and ground any thing I wanted to grind,.....carlton acted like they were really going to do a demo when I went to s.c.,.....then got over there and they tried to pull that crap on 2-3,....8-10 inch dia. rotten stumps with a new 8018 ,.....then they finaly found two but didn't want to get into the dirt after they told me we could go grind seveal with it.

I was wondering who picked up that machine from the Florida auction. Did you determine why the radiator fan blade was all torn up?

It is the same machine serial #139 as the Richie Brothers Flordia auction, I tried bidding for the machine sold for 39K + 2% auction fee. Before I bid on the machine I called Vermeer to ensure the machine was not reported stolen (which is was not stolen). Then asked if they had any information, only thing they said was it was originally sold in Alabama. I did not make the trip to view the machine in Flordia, but from the pictures noticed that the radiator fan blade was chewed up, the exhaust was bent (as you mentioned) and that the exhaust insulation was missing. Do you know anything more about the unit? (Hudro man) There is always a reason why equipment is sold at an auction especially if last week highest bidder was $39k and this week it is worth $65k.
