Hey! Let's start another debate on what makes a sw a "pro" saw!

Yes, the 2159 is basically the same as the Husky 359. I think that the XP, as in 346xp, 357xp, 372xp, etc. mostly indicates the closed loop transfers and slightly longer timing for more top end power.

On the other hand, the 359/2159 sure does seem to be a handy saw. I demo'ed one yesterday...easily embarasses my old Johnny 625, and maybe the 670 too (on all but the biggies), especially after a couple of hours of work...so light and handy.

I would bet a dollar to a donut that all the internals except piston and jug are exactly the same between the 359/2159 amd 357xp. I suppose if a guy wanted to ask, one of the resident saw guru's around here could "tweak" them 2159's up to embarass a 357xp...with a little better port timing and 2 more cc's, and an empty bean-can for a muffler...

You guys are correct, the 2159 and the 359 are the same basic saw. Both saws do like porting but not as well as the 357 does.
If you port the 2159,359 and the 357,359,the 357 will rule. The 357 is the only saw out of the 4 that has the crankcase stuffed with a full circle crank. It might be interesting to try the 357 crank in one of the other saws.

Full Circle Crank

Dan - Help me out. What is the engine design benefit of a full circle crankshaft?

Thanks,
