I just had a man from Keo Arkansas call asking for help cutting slabs from a 87 inch DBH Bar Oak. He said it was the Largest one West of the Mississippi.
It fell down a few Months ago uprooted in a storm Anyone close to AR that has a Large saw, at least 48". I have an 98cc saw but da* the biggest bar I ever had on it was 36". I know it would drive a longer bar . I guess they have Pic of it on the Keo AR website. I am going to look now. It has a short Log but it is the King of Keo. They may get a few Slabs from it. The pic's on that Keo website are good, 1 big Oak. Have tried to talk with Stihl Mid South see if they would help with a long saw to get a slab for that office

I have a 090 with a 4 ft bar & helper handle here in Dallas, but have no idea where Keo, Ark. is.

That's the biggest oak I have ever seen. Just the tops would be enough firewood to last a few winters. Check out the size of the people standing under it. Amazing it lasted as long as is did.

23 foot Bar Oak 88 "

I have tried to contact Stihl Mid South in Malvern Ar. To see if they may want to sponsor us the loan of a saw for a Slab for their Corp. HQ just off HWY US 30. . Keo is a little South East of Little Rock

I might be able to make it there this weekend, but the biggest bar I have for my 066 is a 36", unless I got something bigger. I have never had to deal with anything that was more than about 65", other than root flare.

They want to try to get large round slabs from this log. at 88 inch's it will take a saw bar of at least 48 inch's. If Stihl Mid South will come out they have a 088 with a 54 inch bar. They may not do any cutting tell most of a year anyway, let some of the moisture leave the log, cut down on how fast it splits. A large 7 foot slab will split way to fast as it dries out.
