272xp questions

I just have some general questions about my 272. I know the 200 series of saws is a popular group of saws and I've noticed that mine has a backwards ID tag on the case... Wondering if that has any meaning? And what years were thease made? Mine doesn't have a decomp (not complaining) but most I've seen do? And how beneficial is a muffler mod or dual port muffler on this saw?

I don't know about the flipped tag but the early 272's didn't come with a decomp, similar to the early 288's. Acres say the 272 was made from 1993-97, when it was replaced by the 371. I don't know about dual ports but I ground all the "teeth" off of my deflector and pried the outlet a little wider with a scrench.
