rite im playin again... with some help from my friends here,i can put a good chain on both now...they both opened up. with the same chain. 67drivers versus 66.,,
both as good as i can get them.
the 028 takes it in fast cut by a tad.
in smooth cut by more. of course the 295 weighs less by 2 lbs,so its still my floor board saw.kinda surprised me.:)

Tony, when you say opened up (re the 295) are you talking about just removing that plate on the muffler or did you actually take it off and modify it? Also when you switched bars did you stay with the .325 chain?

yep i stayed with the .325 on both saws.
i opened up the 028 with a drill. the 295
i pulled the screw holder inserts out .
then replaced the plate. then i opened up the plate some. it has to warm up to really get to the desired rpm. but it does cut fast.been playin in the rain, this morning.
opening both saws helped them both out. changed it enough so both carbs had to be readjusted. im careful with this now ,as ive cooked one. i get it to max rpm then turn left until she starts to slow a bit . this way when she warms up she really turn fast and i know i got the most fuel i can get in the mix,and still get max power. notice i said power, not rpm.
now lest u mechanics, think i think it know it all. quit laughing and tell me what i did wrong.:) by the way trimmed in case u dont know i changed the 295 to 16 inch . that made a lot
