I have some dirty wood to cut, I was wondering if anybody had a few loops of used 3/8 .050 72dl chain they would part with.
Thanks

I have a few 3/8 50 skip used I'll send you as part of the Christmas thread on here. Pm me your address.

Speaking of used chains, you guys know where I can buy some? I want to experiment with chain sharpening angles/devices but don't want to mess up new chains.

After reading my post I feel like I need to clarify, I am looking to buy some used chains. I appreciate the generosity of everybody here but I am not trying to be a freeloader. I am willing to pay for chains. thanks guys!

Its Christmas. Take what you are offered. Look at the chainsaw forum Christmas give away thread. If you feel the need to pay for them cover the shipping costs. As for the chain I have you can buy me a beer.

I wasn't trying to be rude. I do appreciate the offers I recieved. I just didn't want anybody to think I was begging for handouts.

Go by your local OPE shop, and ask for abadoned, or trashed loops. Also, I have had marginal luck picking up loops of ching chong chain from box store rental departments.

Nice, thank you sir.

Ching chong chain! LMAO! Hope no Chinese dude clicks on this thread

Or does a ching chong company make all the chains and Oregon /Stihl/etc put their name on it?

Not at all, like said above its Christmas. I put two 3/8 50 72dl I'm the mail today coming your way. I didn't sharpen them though lol!! Hope the help you out.

Send me $20 and I'll try to fill a medium flat rate box. Probably can fit 50-100 loops I'd guess? 72 driver is 20" bar... can you shorten chains, so I can go 20" and bigger? It would make it faster for me to sort through.

I have 5 or 6 5 gal pails of used chains so no shortage.

You will need to sharpen them too... or I can but then the loops are $13 each.

Merry Christmas from Valley Firewood/Mat Valley Milling in Palmer Alaska.

Thanks! everybody, I should be sitting good on chains for a while now. Thanks to all and happy holidays. It is truly a great bunch of people on this site. Have a safe and happy holiday season!

Guys, my offer is not an open invite for everyone else. Sorry, it's a one time deal. I must have had 20 messages on saw chain this evening!

If you want to come by the shop and pick through the pails, I'll make a great deal, that's the best I can do. I barely get a chance to have a sit down meal most days, never mind finding chains for 30 people.

Scrooge! lol

Well, it was worth a shot. If I lived in Alaska I would definitely pick through the pails lol.

I wish there were 30hrs in a day and 12 days in a week. I hardly can keep track of the current month, never mind the day!
