I have a 3120K cutoff saw that I want to convert into a chainsaw. I need the oiler, clutch & sprocket, Clutch cover, brake hardware & handle, handlebar, and top cover assembly. If you have a good cylinder I'm interested in that too. This one is the Railroad 16" turn-around saw version. Thanks

I might be wrong, but I didn't think the 3120K had the oiler passages machines into the case.

Like I said, I might be wrong, but I was thinking that anyways...
This is true. It sounds like he has the railroad cut off version and they just added the arm to them and didnt start with the 3120K.

Ok. I'll check and see if maybe I need a whole cc half. Thankso_O
Similarly; I've ran into the Stihl TS760 early crancases were left with the partially machined bore instead of a whole new casting on the later ones that omitted the oiler bore entirely.

The early ones have the oiler passages but not the brass "feeder" tubes and they have the flat bar pad. The later ones have no passages, no feeder tubes, and the bar pad is a funky shape.

alexcagle, I may be interested in the "K" parts if you want to dispose of them. A local saw shop has had a 3120K sitting on the shop floor for over a year due to a broken blade guard.
he shop owner has done alot for me, I'd like to give back...

Yes, it has the regular crank in it.
Not to change the subject, but I had one of those Racine saws that had the power bee/ US motor power 820's on it Come in for service. You talk about a beast! I got to rebuild it after some guy put straight gas in it. It could have used a timing retarder coil at low RPM. That thing would just about yank your arm off sometimes when trying to start it.

I have two of the Racine rail saws with the US 820 engines. They are both direct v belt drives and no clutches. They have lots of power but are heavy as heck

This 3120k is a 2003 model, and after looking at the cost to convert it, and the fact the bar mount pad has been modified, I think it will remain what it is. I will be on the lookout for a rebuildable 3120Xp instead.
Thanks everybody for the input on the feasibility of this conversion. Alex
