cutting a dead oak and the 8 inch diameter log ripped the 335XPT from my fingers then hit the lawn with the log on top of it. this happened to an employee the first time and never quit running but this time I droped it when I cut a little groove that pinched my bar in the log.
did a little damage but got it started after about a hundred pulls with full throttle. Tough saw. It could have been alot worse. chris
 
I've never tried a lanyard. I think I would get frustrated moving it every two minutes I climb up and down the ladder. Or I could just leave it in the tree. YES! but the worst that can happen is the chain should pop before the lanyard goes.

Huh?? Either I'm confused about what you are saying or you are very lucky that the saw is the only thing that fell on the ground.:confused:
