Hello. I am wondering if you install a NE top end on a OE saw ,do you have to lower max rpm since the NE was slower by 600rpm I think ?

Could it still reach 14700 rpm comfortably?

Around 14000 from my experience as stated above. I tach the ones I have fixed warmed up with pure gas at 14k and they lasted. That seems to be a sweet spot for power and performance. Any faster and you lose power.

346xp = 14.700
346xp NE = 14.100
I allready found those specs but Im wondering if its only the piston and cyl that dictates the rpm on those two saws. Ideally I want my 346 OE running at 14700 like stock. I want a specialized limbing saw since I allready have the 357 and 372 for other jobs. im not trying to have a all around saw. so I'm wondering if it would be safe to run a NE top end at 14700 like to OE top end would do with ease being the stock setup.

I understand that for bigger cuts max rpm doesnt really matter that much but for a specialized limbing saw I want to be able to reach that 14700 stock setting. I was just wondering if its safe to do that with a NE top end on a OE saw.
