OK I picked this old jewel up last Friday. Saturday morning I pulled the muffler for a closer peek (looks fine) and filled it up with premix and bar oil. Fired right up, and runs strong.

During the week, I noticed it was drooling a bit of bar oil... so this morning I checked it out a little closer. I drained the oil tank (I had filled it 'full' and the level had dropped maybe 15-20 mm) I filled it up with some gas, sloshed it around some, and cleaned up the saw as best I could with some carb/intake spray.

It appears that it's leaking from the oil discharge hose (the brass tube dealie, just above the bar studs) although it could be coming from behind that. Is there a quick & easy way to fix this, or is it "normal"? I have a sort-of plan to get one of Bailey's BB p/c kits for it, and have that woods ported, so while it's on the operating table would be 'prime time' to have it fixed - if need be.

I parked it for the week on a piece of cardboard, next to it's little buddy the 41. The 41 leaks a little, but the 371 leaks a good bit more. I can drain the oil out after using it, if I won't be back at it for awhile, but if it's not a big deal to seal it, I will.

Here's where it appears to be leaking from:

Also, is 3mm of side-to-side play OK on a rim sprocket? free play between the drum and the washer...the rim slides along the drum splines when the b/c is dismounted. The splines on both appear fine, so I don't suppose it is an issue, but thought I'd better ask.

Doesn't look too bad all - vent the tank, and the "problem" will most likely disappear......:greenchainsaw:

...and delete one of the treads, you created two-------:greenchainsaw:
