Who is currantly offering the best deal on a new 372xp. I am going to buy one in the next week or so. Also is there another model I should look at. I always heard good things about the 372xp.

Yes, look at Jonsered CS 2171 TURBO, it's the sister to Husqvarna 372xp

Click on the Baileys logo at the top of this page. They seem to have a good price on that 372xp although you may have to wait abit to get it.

Might want to check out the Dolmar 7900. I ran a couple of them at a GTG a few weeks ago. 7900 feels similar in weight, I probably preferred its balance, and has much more torque. I have a modded 372 that runs pretty good, but for actual work, I would probably have gotten the 7900.

....
I am not sure why anybody would say the 2171 has less power as it's engine is made by Husky for the 372 if I'm not correct. ...

LOL, I was just having some fun, they do in fact rate the 2171 at 5.3 hp, and the 372 at 5.4, but both are 3.9 kW..........

....it is possible, but I think it is just marketing.....:taped:

1kW = 1.34 bhp = 1.37 hp

Husky Has replaced the 372 with t 575 , it is a excellent saw . not was well known yet , I think Husky is slowly changing it's whole line . Huskies 570 is about the same as a 372 I think it is a 372 with a new name and slightly housing If you want a litle more power, a 385 . All are around the range you ar looking for , Josereds , are made by Husky in the same factorty for tha amtter . Take a close look at them and they are remarkably similar but Jonserd does not have the real big saws, no big deal as the parts ae interchangalbe and you can use the same bars and chains , but cost more . both are good saws . Though ido not se as man Jonsred dealers you vcan get them on the intenet . Make sure to get that last 2 bars amd afew extra ains . yep it cost more but it will save you a head ache in haveing to run out for a new bar or chain gt file an if you can eventaulldrop the130- 230 fora shar[enr. testit out on some junkchains and ten you are read to go ,:biggrinbounce2:

Try Baileys they hava always been good to I can have parts at my door in a ffew days . iamalwys working on soemthging .
goodluck

The 575p is supposed to replace 372p, while 570 being consumer model....

Not at all, it is the same as the 575, but with a smaller bore.

The 570 is the replacement for the 365, and it is not a consumer model.;)

But the possibility for even more power is there after a modding someday if they decide to in the future and that dont have nothing to do with weight, its the cylinder and piston of 74.66cc's.
Throw the book crap specs in for heat Troll.

Plus Troll since you like Book specs, The 2 saws weigh the same empty with power head only, go check Bailey's and see. The only difference is the full wrap and cc's.:ices_rofl:

I suspect the the 74.66 is there for EPA reasons, and not for increased power.
There are indications that it is a bit heawier than the standard version.......

I'm not sure about the xpw but the regular 372xp does not meet EPA standards and I think they can only bring in a limited number of them to the US depending on how many EPA credits they have for units that exceed the standards.

372xpw

I dont quite understand the xpw thing, why the differant displacement than the 372 xp. can you get the saw in a half wrap handle with the 74cc displacement? Does the 5 ccs make that much difference?
