Hi,just bought an 056 Stihl powerhead only. Was wanting to get a 24" & a 32" bar for it.What chain size do you guys think would work best .375 or .404??Also can you recomend a fast cutting chain from Baily's?It will be used for firewood cutting , all kinds of wood.Don't think I'm ready for the square chisel yet...Also what about sprocket size?
Thanks Russ

I'd go with 3/8" and use an 8-tooth sprocket. That should be a happy combination for that saw.

As for chain, Bailey's WoodsmanPro (Carlton) stuff is good. I've been pleased with both of their offerings - the WP Round Chisel and WP X-Series Round Chisel. You should be able to run full-comp chain on both lengths with that saw, assuming you're content with its chip clearance behavior on the 32" bar.

You may also want to grab an extra loop or two of semi-chisel for those times when you're working in dirtier wood. Having the right tool for the job always makes for happier cutting.

I'll second the 3/8 cnoice...They are more widely available, and after having my 088 for six years now with a .404 pitch chain,I have yet to see any advantage to it.

What's on it right now? Run that. If you don't think you are ready for chisel chain (????) then you won't notice the difference anyways.
