385 woes

hi i have a 385 xp that will not run well it has no power and keeps backfiring back through the carb, i have checked the seals, the impulse line, the carb pressure tests okay, decomp valve is okay, cylinder is tight. just about tearing my hair out by the roots at this stage, have checked piston as well not been nipped up either. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

In addition I'd remove, clean and regap the coil just as a general procedure.
Like the 346 and the 372 those 385's are pretty flawless, but it would be interesting to find out how to smarten it up.

I went through that on a saw and finally asked my brother what he thought, "Did you try a new spark plug?" he asked.

A freinds 372 got to that point or similar ,and the dealer replaced the electronics under lifetime warranty on that part,which fixed the saw.
