I was wondering if anyone has or heard of anyone making a rope bridge on a 4 d ring saddle. It's logical to just buy a saddle with a rope bridge, but that's maybe a couple months away and I really wanna try it out and see how it feels. And, would like to use a hitch climber before I get the saddle since it will be a little longer until I have it. I dont think the hitch climber setup is very good for the standard 4 d rings

Years ago I saw some folks using a rope bridge between the butt sling d rings, I tried it and didn't like it. But I tried saddles with built in rope bridges and didn't like them, either!

Yeah, I haven't tried a rope bridge. I've always had the basic gear but have learned a lot, and anything to help make it a little easier, comfortable, etc. I'm willing to upgrade. Just didn't wanna drop the money til I maybe got a taste of what it's like.

Yes its possible to make a rope bridge between the buttstrap Ds on that style of saddle. to do this just take a length of rope tie anchor hitches backed up by double overhands on both sides. However there is an inherent problem with doing this I think the length of your bridge will be very small and it will not behave like a rope bridge should. the point of a rope bridge is to give you a wider range of movement across your body as you are moving however this is achieved by giving a longer path of movement for your hardware to move on the bridge. i don't think you will be able to get this path if you set up this style saddle this way instead i think you will have limited movement of your hardware across the bridge and the hardware will be so far from your body that it will be hard to manipulate. a better option may be to connect the two ds together with a biner and then clip into that biner with the hitch-climber system. I use a hitch climber for work with a coopers hitch and it works very well that is on a 1rst gen edge saddle with a rope bridge on my personal saddle it is on a modded buck cat saddle with the warp speed bridge replaced by rope tied between the two rings with anchor hitches backed by double overhands. you will not be disappointed with the hitch climber pulley it really streamlines your system

Go to a local dealer and ask if you can demo a rope bridge saddle at there shop. If they let you take it home to demo....even better. Do your research. Get one thar will fit you needs. I ride an ergovation. I have an arbpro tree access laying around. Its a good saddle but doesn't carry a large saw very well. The ergovation is well rounded. It does it all within comfort. Go to Treestuff .com and see what they have.
