hi guys hope things are well! Does anyone know if anyone sells a 42" 3/8, .50 gauge bar for the 12mm stihl mounts? I'm trying to keep my
660's milling setup all the same. Thanks n8

When I was looking for a 42" for my Husqvarnas, all I could seem to find in 3/8 was .063.

I see the Logosol is currently out of stock. Bailey's sells WP (rebadged Cannon) and Cannon, but don't list the size you are looking for. They may be able to order it. Cannon's website indicates the bars can be made in all gauges, pitches, and lengths.

If you're currently running 3/8 lopro/picco, then maybe I could see the point. If not, a few loops of 3/8 .063 dedicated to a 42" shouldn't be a source of confusion. BTW, I bought my 42" with a loop of ripping chain for 1/2 the price of that Logosol bar.

Yeah I couldn't find anything at baileys also and i'm shure a custom cannon bar wouldn't be cheep. I just wanted to keep from switching rims if I was to switch bars. All my 12mm bars are setup with 3/8-.50. I recently bought a reel of carlton milling chain from baileys and was trying to just buy a bar instead of more chain and a bar. Oh well this is what happens when you don't do enough research and bad planning. Thanks guys n8

You don't need to change rim sprockets when going from 3/8 .050 to .058 or .063. The pitch is the same, but the gauge is different, and the sprockets don't care about the gauge, other than some of the bar tip sprockets.

I do think that you'll be able to get a 42" 3/8 .050 bar(Cannon or WP), but its gonna cost double of an off the shelf Oregon or Forester in .063. You might also be able to get a Tsumura "Total Super Bar" in 42" .063, but you'll have to change the bar sprocket from .404 to .3/8.

I will call baileys just to see what they can do and what price it would be.
