I wanted to remove the H/L screw limiter, so i could rich-en up a bit. With the stock limiters it only gives you about a 1/2 turn of adjustment, both in and out. I was able to get both screws out and remove the little aluminum limiters. Since I only had a 1/2 turn of adjustment either way, I was not able to count the turns out from all the way in. With the limiters removed, from all the way in does anyone have a good starting point for tuning (# of turns out). I also did a muffler mod to let the engine breath. I did a search and saw some say 2 turns out is a starting point. I'm pretty certain that is far to few for this new design 455. From the start of threading in the screws it is ~15 turns until it bottoms out (all the way in)...

Thanks for your help

I have a 460 rancher and am in the process of modding the muffler. I was pretty confident but was trying to find out for sure if these saws were rev limited. I read something that tuning a rev limited saw was a lil different. So I can take out the rev limiters by taking out the H and L screws and then popping out the shims? How difficult were they to get out?

Thanks
