IMG_4579.JPG IMG_4580.JPG IMG_4581.JPG IMG_4582.JPG The 18" of snow that had been on the ground for a month all melted last week. Today I decided to take advantage of the nice weather (8" snow coming tomorrow) and finish up a job. We had a beech snap in an ice storm 2 months ago. I bucked and limbed most of it with a super pro 380. Today I finished the butt end of the trunk with a 460 stihl with a 25" bar and I needed it to make it in one pass. The rest I cut to 4' with a Dolmar 540. This time of year we have a lot of tree work so I get to use all my saws and keep the wood. This wood is hard to begin with and since it was a live tree the water in the trunk froze and made it twice as tough.
