That is true, agree!I had the 55 Rancher before the 361. They are not even in the same catagory. Get the 361 and start smiling.:biggrinbounce2:
All 3 would work great with a 20 inch bar. It comes down to personal preference, cost, dealer support, etc. The extra weight of the 2165 may or may not be a factor for you. Its a strong saw with a 20". Its stil worth checking it out.
BTW Jeff, the 55 rancher is not the same as the 455 rancher. The later is the sick pig. The original 55 rancher is a good small firewood saw, but a 357xp and 361 are both better choices in terms of A/V and a tad more power. The 55 was best suited with a 3/8 chain in 16" or 18" length. 18 is about the limit with this saw in moderate hardwoods. You could go bigger...but you wouldn't bolt a 36" on a ms 260 would you?
Are you talking to me?
The 361 won't even be a comparison. It'll eat the 455 for breakfast. The other two, I've never run them. But to compare the 361 to the Rancher isn't even fair.
.... but a 357xp and 361 are both better choices in terms of A/V and a tad more power. ...
hello saw fans.I was cutting with a friend, who was using a 55 rancher. It cut ok but just abit slow.My question is would the 357 xp or Stihl 361 of Jonsered 2165 cut faster.all be pulling a 20 inch bar
I cant speak for the 361,but I can for the Jred 2165. I think it works great with a 20 inch bar, loads of power, never bogs down and it ate this 39 inch ash like a greedy pig the other day , see pics below.
Pick the Jred you know it makes sense.
....
I'm a husky guy myself, but i do have a 361C and i have to admit, you can use that saw to do just about anything. The 357 is a fine saw, but so is the 361, you can't go wrong either way.
