572xp no spark!! any suggestions?

Getting a 572xp today with no spark. Best place to start? switch? coil?

Disconnect the switch from the coil to eliminate that (in case it is earthing somewhere). If it doesn't work, check the air gap (to flywheel) on the coil. If that doesn't work, swap the coil.

Yea did what's suggested above. Going to get a coil. They say they have a lifetime warrenty. If you're the original owner with receipt. Which is stupid. If you sell something it doesn't mean it's life is over.

i'd blow out the fly wheel and gap of the coil. check that with a business card, then plug , then coil.

Yea. Tried that.

Tested coil also. Have ground on black. Nothing on red and 4.2 on green. Thats ohms.

Business card is often too thick. I am not sure of the spec for this saw, but it probably only needs 0.3mm (0.012") which is about the same as two sheets of letter paper.

Are you pulling it over fast enough? Seems like the newer saws don’t produce low-rpm spark like the older models

That is true, but is exaggerated by having the wrong gap.
