Not that I'm the law in these matters but with any 2 stroke I let it idle for half a minute when cold while I get myself ready to work, then go about 1/2 - 3/4 throttle for a minute or two and then its WOT all day after that. 2 strokes love fuel and thats how they stay cool and lubricated. Same goes for sleds, bikes, etc and I've never had catastrophic failure of my own equipment.
