How many of you have experience with this saw? What is your opinion? Where can I purchase one (my zip is 45245)? How much are they?
Thanks,
Tod

Xander,
I have alot of hours on the 7900. I use it almost everyday.
I personally feel they are a great saw and take to porting very well. I had alot of differant Powerported saws, this EHP 7900 eats the comparible husqvarna up.
I have the 7900 for $550 Plus S/H. Thats the powerhead only. If you want a ported one, I can have one of those soon as well. EHP has 7 of mine up in Canada right now, 3 are already to ship.
I run differant bar length as well. Most of the time a 24" bar, but have been running a 36" on big removals. Actually tomorrow I will be running a 36".
Dolmars have a very good warranty and we are a full service dealership, that does our own warranty work.
Please let me know if I can help you out.
Thanks
Hunter

Dolmar warranty

Be very careful if the saw has been modified in anyway the warranty is void, if the dealer wants to honor the warranty on his own that is up to him. If that is the case you had better get it in writing. As a Dolmar distributor rep I have told all of my legitimate dealers that they should not, nor do they have to honor any warranty on a saw that is sold over the Internet. If you buy it over the net then get it serviced over the net.

Why would a dealer want to turn down the $? After all isnt most of the profits of an OPE business service related?
BTW seen you post on the prototype Husky. Whats up with that saw? Got any particulars?

Next time you make it Up may way i owe you a cold one. :D

Dave has a point, modded saws dont carry warranty, but I have had no trouble out of mine.
We handle all of our own warranty work on Stock saws and we also carry a full line of parts.

Ben,

I hope to get up that way I could sure go for a cold one about now, in response to your question about a dealer making money on warranty that is probably the biggest joke of the small engine business. There are so many ins and outs we could talk for hours about it. In all of the years I spent in this business the only dealers that I ever met that made money were the McCulloch and Homelite dealers, years ago the dealer bought the part at cost and was credited at retail he was also sent a check for his labor once a month, nowdays you pay cost and are credited with cost you also are expected to take your warranty as credit on your account, that is if you get the warranty approved. In some cases this could take months. Believe me when I say the scales are not tipped in the dealers favor.

Plus around here in Ontario you donot get your shop rate when doing warranty work . it is about 60 % of your shop rate

Good point, I think I'll move up closer to canada again someday. then send the saws up your way for service work.

Warranty----

If a dealer CAN'T break even.......he's doing something(s) wrong!

A dealer CAN make $$$$ on warranty, butt only if they:
> Take the time to be trained,
> Invest in proper tools,
> Lay out the parts & service departments for efficiency,
> Do the needed paperwork correctly.

Sick and tired of hearing dealers complain about warranty.
It's a two way street, and dealers just aren't pulling their weight, with the legal strength today being on the dealers side.

Recently had a dealer....note the word...had.
Sold a good amount of stuff, but always had complaints from commercial, and consumers about how long it took, how many times it took....to get things done correctly, and how poor he was on parts.

Wanted to cancel him badly, but due to laws, and a possible lawsuit based on restraint of trade vs performance I couldn't.
Had to wait till a credit company pulled his credit line.
Put him on permanent COD.

The customers he had....don't miss him, and I the only complaint I now get it is that customers have to travel a little more, but they're happier.

doing warranty work just comes with the job , and any good dealership doesnot mind doing warranty work to keep there people happy, but i think we are a little of topic now , we are to be talking about the 7900 and there will be very little warranty on this saw from what i have seen , they work very good and are built strong

i aint ever valued warranty much anyway.. cars, saws, whatever they take forever to gettum ready for u .. id just as soon pay somebody to fix it now..
not that ive done it much .. had problems with saws while under warranty, that is..buy smart to start with and
ive never used a warranty ,except to take a green poulan back to lowes..lesson learned in that case..jmo
