8 Hours a day !

Here in Nova Scotia we are considered a "Have Not" province so when the economic meltdown hit it was but a blip on the radar and mainly affected some people's pension or retirement plans .
Having said that , most people that are "Come from away" always mention the fact that we tend to use things to the end and then try to get more out of it .
Here's an an ad for a piece of equipment , you do the math .
Someone will buy it , put an undercarriage on it and then go for broke !

It does say a lot for the guys that own it to be able to get that many hours !
May be stihl waters knows who they are .

38,500 hours! That is serious seat time.

The company I work for just bought a JD 440B cable skidder and a Hough loader with forks and bucket. The skidder only has 1,800 hours on it.

Did you count in Sundays, Christmas, Easter and do you have a Nova Scotian Independence Day, Dancan?

I must have been drinking on my first calculations LOL !
The average today works out to about 3 hours a day but I could still be wrong .
Still impressive when you consider down time for maintenance and repairs , vacation time and moving the machine from site to site .

38,500 hours / 13.5 years = 2,852 hours per year

Assume 6 working days per week x 52 weeks per year = 312 working days

2,852 hours per year / 312 days = 9.14 hours per day

If seven days = 7.84 hours per day

If five days = 10.97 hours per day

Dude, unless I did something wrong, that is some good equipment utilization.
