I have 3 sections of H beam that I bought from a wrecking Co. , they vary in length from 12' to 16' and have a .500 wall thickness.

$5 a foot and I'll cut them to a dimension that you specify or you can take the full length.

These where structural columns that supported a 20K gantry crane and are still factory straight.

Would make a nice splitter chassis!

Beam dimensions

What's the dimensions on the H section of the beam. Is it .5 thick on all surfaces?

Oh lord, this is just what I need to repair my splitter and it is only 500 miles away! :bang:

How much is shippping to 65081?

Sorry I just saw the title and it says 8X8. What part of cincy are you in? I have a buddy there, will see if he can pick up the beam for me.

By the way, the middle part is called the web and the top and bottom are called the flanges. Wall thickness is generally used for tubing.

They are H beams, or that's what the iron workers called them when I was a crane operator. I was told that "I" beams run horizontal and are taller than they are wide and "H" beams are made for vertical load and are also called columns.

Sorry, too many years in a tool shop we call any cross section of material "wall".
