I just got back from a training class that was about 20 minutes from his shop. I decided to take my 440 that I just installed a dual port muffler on. None of my local dealers wanted to help me set the max rpm, they didn't use tachs when asked either. So who else but to get the "Champ" to tune my saw:bowdown: The 440 went to 15,500rpm quick and could have hit 16,000. He turned it down to 12,700 and I'm all smiles, wow what a saw. Tom is a very nice person like most of us chainsaw users are. I would tell anyone that is near to check him out and chat for a awhile. I saw a few projects and my first 880 in person:dizzy:

Thanks Tom, it was nice to meet you and the other guy(didn't catch his screen name)

Next steps:

  1. Go back to Tommy's shop
  2. Deal with additional BS
  3. Retrieve air filter Tom left laying on workbench
  4. Put air filter back on
  5. Replace ignition wire Tom accidentally cut with tach
  6. Re-install chain with cutters facing forward
  7. Have I missed anything guys?
  8. :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

Hey hey tis was no problem. Glad to have you drop by. That saw of yours had to be one of the fastest 440's I've ever heard,LOL. That thing was screaming bigtime. I'm glad I got a chance to set it where it belongs for it sure wouldn't have ran long at 15,500 rpms. That saw cuts great. I was a mights surprised myself at how well it dropped right through the log. You come back again Brian, your always welcome at the shop.

That fellow there with me was Joe. He's on the site here too. He comes by quite alot as does Hoss. Hell I had Hoss overhauling a TS400 concrete saw for me Tuesday. I pulled a muscle in my back so Hoss stepped in and did a great job overhauling saws, replacing seals and working on trimmers. Guess I shoulda gave him a few bucks but then again, naaaaaaaaaaaaa, he got the pleasure of my company,LOLOL

Awwwwwww Woodie is ok, I don't like him worth a hoot in hell but for the most part he's ok for a laff or two. Yup they use him down at the jail sometimes for all the depressed prisoners. He just walks in and they start laffing like crazy,LOLOL

THALL is a real knowledgable guy, without the Stihl "tunnel-sight" that some others have, and also a real standup-guy, when the chips are down - one of the best members on the AS, if not the very best.....
