Well, mine at least...

My :censored: spark plug wire keeps popping off the plug. After about 10 minutes, it's loose and the saw starts missing and the first couple times (yeah, I'm a slow learner sometimes :) it was really frustrating because I wasn't thinking "spark plug wire is loose". i was thinking, how the hell did I just roast my piston?

Now, I run the saw with the air filter cover off; popped off the screw wheel to keep the filter on (duh).

Is this a common thing or did I just get lucky on this saw. Another funny thing I realized was when i was putting on my double dog chain catcher (finally), the factory installed the dogs upside down.

Very uncommon on any saw. I assume you have a plug with a non-screw on cap? if not, replace it..

Is the SPRING coming off the plug or is the spring coming out of the wire?

btw.. It's the same spring as on millions of other saws..

It's the torsion spring coming off the plug. Plug is a Bosch screw-on tip style. Yeah, figured it's the same spring as it's the same part number on the few IPLs I checked...

Owell, I think I'll give my dealer a call this week and get some of that great Stihl service...

Thank Andy...

The plug is not supposed to be a screw-on tip style... They vibrate loose and pop the wires off..

You can try just crimping the tip with a pair of pliers.

If plug is ok, but u need ht cap & spring ... 1128 405 1000@ $7 au & 0000 998 0604 &$1.5 au. if its new ask about warranty???????:rockn:

all those nots in there got me confused. And I can't edit my post.

It's a NON-screw-tip type.

I tried crimping a bit but the spring just deflects. ended up grabbing one end of the coil with a visegrips and the other end with another pair and rotating the ends in a bit (like twisting out a heli-coil - don't ask me how i know that trick :). reverse and do the other side. instead of a "straight barrel" effect, it now looks a bit like a proper beer keg.
