Hi There, I just bought another saw 5 minutes ago from Ed Heard, one of the best guys you could meet in the hotsaw world. Its a 271 set up for alcohol with pipe, built by Ed himself. Ed said, (thats my new handle- Ed Said), it will make a single cut in an 8x8 in .74.
Now we have a new race, Art's chain against Ed's on the 271, but in fairness to Art, Art is a man of bigger wood than an 8x8, so we will make the cut in wood size of Art's choice, being that the 271 has a 16" bar.
Ed has a family member in ill health at the moment, so he's in no hurry to get me up there, but Ed said that my names on it for 1200$ U.S. I may not get the saw till April Ed said, till things settle down for him.
Have I spun a bearing already? Ed's happy that Ken is also building me a saw.
Anyway, here's a picture of some green gold I sold today to Tiawan.
Tame Apes of the Jungle they call us,
He men of the Forest are we,
Who spend our money on chainsaws and booze,
And dont give a ???? if we win or loose,
It's the carefree life in the Forest we choose,
On the slopes by the Western sea.

272 or 371

hello john,
i told you theres no turning back john, but that husky is either a 272 or a 372 or a 371 please let us know what you have
ken

Now that you mentioned it Ken, I'm not really sure, wait a minute, it's a 272 with a 371 barrel and a thin ring piston, but Ed said something about it being an 046 case with a 371 barrel. I will have to wait till I see it.
John

Now your talking John, I'm ready. A time of .7 sec., no problem on an 8x8. A 12x12 is o.k with me. Do you want to use a de-chromed chain for the cut that represents me? You can always put two 8x8's together, just nail one on top of the other.

Well John, if a fool and his money are soon parted...Just how in the hell did he get his money in the first place ???

Congrats on the new saw. Guess I better get tunning my saw up a bit more.

Congrats on the new toy...uh, tool. :)

From the subject of this thread I thought you'd be talking 'bout those Pioneer-wielding miracle loggers you found a while back.

Hi John, I think your talkin about Big Joe Mufferaw who paddled from Ottawa to Oshawa in just one day, song by Stompin Tom Connors.
Anyway, I think I eroneously said I bought a 271, because I had a Jonsey 2171 on the brain. I have used this saw as off late, including today, built by one Goooferized cylinder mechanic. Well, I made $$ with this nice lookin and nice cuttin saw.
Thanks Dennis for the Super Gooferization.
John

Sorry, I forgot to say that Ed Heard kept asking me about the 2171, so I think he is trying to pry it away from me, but I wont part with it because it matches the trees and it has more natural colors, Plus no one in my neck of the woods has one, which makes it all the more desireable, plus it cuts too and is really just a 271 in discuise.
John

I remember one year ago at this time Lambert was on TSF saying "Walkerized 372" this and Walkerized 372 that, kind of like he does with the 357 now. I knew then he had the bug in him. But 1200 bones for a piped alcoholic Husky even surprises me. Congrats John, to hell with catching the bug, you are officially diseased now!

Hey, Dennis,

I will be in Vancouver Mar 9 for a makeup day of Arbormaster training. I'm wondering if you might want to meet me at Sun Peaks Sunday? We could go three plankin..........!!

I could bring your favorite colored saw, that matches the woods, according to that gypo addict!! LOL.

Hey, Mr Big Hair

:(

Dang, I can't three plank by myself, even tho John Holmes is a distant relative............

Then I'll likely send the 3120 and Jonsy from a Cdn post office.

Shoot, maybe I'll haveta go to Whistler, what a drag. No bunny slopes.

Believe it or not, GP has been spotted on shapers.

Roger Dodger............

I know u will........

aah, well the good, the rad, and the gnarly are getting old..Plake and Day are old school these days...lol..even Zudnik is old...ok...are DOA and Friday steeper than Saudan?Or are they the side chutes that drop into the run? Isnt Saudan 49? 2nd steepest in NA anymore?...that 3 foot drop into a chute thats 6 feet wide always was my fav...('cept on my 205's) we will definitely have to hook up for a few turns, unfortunately(fortunately :)) not that weekend
