Tom, my Boy Scout Crew has been using a version of that for ascending out of the last couple pit caves that we rappelled into.
We've been assisted by a local that has done a lot of rocking and caving. I took a "Texas Rig" with me the first time we went with him and that "frog" system just made a mockery of it.

Also what they say about being 'hunched" over is true. If you can stand up straight before you get on rope then you aren't into the frog system tight enough.

I was consdering changing my current setup (pantin footlocking) to a set up similar to this. One change has to only have one foot in the loop (left) and have th pantin on my right. That way I would be able to use both legs independantly. It would be akin to goin up a ladder. The upper ascender would be tethered to your harness as well. That would make the transfer to the i'D easier, imo.

It is similar to the three knot setup, only it would use ascenders, and would be automatic. It is also similar to the Mitchel system with different ascenders.

What do you think Tom, or others?

ive been reading for sometime about this single rope tech. and would be interested in learning it. Is there anyone in the Oklahoma area or going to be, that would be willing to teach it?

Im just not sure of trying to pull a bunch of stuff off the web and trying it w/o some asistance from an experienced user.

Thanks

what are you using for the ascender @ your hips? Which ascenders have you used? Which work good? Just figuring if what I have or can get will work ok. Thanks!

Currently I'm using a Rocker from ISC/Yates for the lower ascender. The upper is a Microcender with a lanyard that is clipped into the biner at my waist.

I don't like using toothed ascenders.

One criteria for my choice in tools is to have compact ones that will store in the pouch on my saddle.
