Went to the feed store yesterday, and I bought an 066 Mag, goat feed, tail wrap for the horse, white millet, and a push broom. Was on my way home , driving down the ro.... Wait, did I say 066? Oh yeah, that. This feed store sells all Echo stuff and every time I walk by the isle, I look down at the Echo chainsaws. Well, sitting on the shelf this time were the 066 and a 460. I took a triple take, and bee lined to the shelf while shouting, "is that an 066?" Sure is the guy said. Now Ive known this guy for years, turns out he has been building repairing and using Stihls since he was 12. He tells me he has a whole barn full of saws and parts and has no more room. He is thinning the herd. I picked up the 066 for 5 bills. It has a dual port muffler and a 25" bar. He also threw in a 28" bar, a scabbard and a scrench. He has the 460 for sale for $750, and a 192T for $250. He said the 192T has had recall work done to it by the local Stihl dealer. This 066 is old style metal flywheel, but i could care less, as I am just super happy to have an 066.
P.S. this is my fist attempt at posting pics,
hope it works.

That's amazing, a feed store in New Jersy! ...............JK

Good find, places to business like that are rare anywhere, he sounds like a good honest merchant....... the kind you take *test logs to?

It is only a slight wonder how he happened to get an Echo franchise and not Stihl? Fist guess is an established Stihl dealer real close?

*I call test logs the weird and unusual that have a lot of different branches that shoot off every direction and regardless how you flip it, something is sticking up off the ground. The kind of stuff when you drop off (if there access to wood is limited) for there test tree, they really appreciate!

Thanks, now that I truly have the saws that I want, I might as well get rid of every thing else. these are saws that I have found. I runs the others don't, Ill get those fixed up. If anybody wants them, Ill be glad to give them up for just shipping.

Just a question out of curiousity..... the 460 is used @ $750? My local dealer has a new 07 (w/2ft bar) on the shelf for $819..... and he is always negotiable if you have cash in hand. I know prices vary by region, maybe they aren't a hot seller around here?

You make a good point. I'm not sure why he asking that price, as I was mesmerized by the 066, and blanked everything else out. It did look brand new. Also, it might be modded, and I'm sure he will throw in extra bars, chains and the likes. Whether or not this all adds up to being worth $750.00 I'm not sure. I could give you their number if your interested.

No.... just curious. It seems different areas have different MSRPs, due to supply and demand i guess. Just wondering aloud if my local guy was getting about the same as other areas of the country.

Nice. ;)

All I've ever gotten at the feed store was some "left over 30 days" chains - at least they were sharp though. I make it a point to ask him every once in a while and one time, he pulled out a box he said he was saving for me.

So... what are you giving away?

Congratulations on the saw!! looks like light used well taken care of and maintained saw. u can make lots of chips w/ that one.

good deal w/ 1 bar. great deal w/ the 2 bars!!!!!

Yes, I too am always willing to jump at the opportunity of one's temporary insanity. :jester: Whacha got? :)

I was headed to the feed store one Saturday. Across the street ouir local talker was auctioning a house. I stopped in to see what she was worth as I am always looking for another rental. Well as it ended up the son of the local realtor and I were the only ones that had an interest. We squared off for awhile. My wife would have been happier with a saw
