Well the weather and my school schedule finally cooperated and I was able to get some cutting and splitting done this weekend.

Picture 40 is of the wood I got split on Saturday

25 is a picture of the tree that blown into another tree
28 is a picture of the same tree on the ground, I was able to fall the tree that was hold the big tree up without much danger or problem
32 is the wood I got cut and loaded yesterday morning in about 1.5 hours
34 another picture of the wood

the split wood is primarily wild cherry and mulberry from a job my dad and I did in may.

the tree that was fell and cut up is all hackberry not the greatest wood but should help to keep the garage warm next year.

Hackberry is some pretty good wood! BTU/cord is right there with ash...20.8 million/cord is what my chart says.

I havent burnt much, but I really like it. All frame of reference though, I burn mostly elm, cottonwood and pine. I come across oak and ash rarely.

Dam nice pic's! I live in the mountains but the east side of the Rocky's so my trees are small not enough moister:( But drive to the other side of the continental divide and they get huge. But Alas they are all soft wood.
But a tree is a tree and a saw is a saw it's all about having a good day being able to get some wood for winter:cheers:

It looks like you were humping along on Saturday. Two rows!

I split about a cord with the boys (5 & 9) Sat afternoon. Mostly ash and mulberry. The boys couldn't keep up so it was split a pile, stack pile, load logs on log lift (most were small enough to manhandle), repeat. It takes about 3-4 guys to keep the splitter busy. Good exercise through.
