Grabbed a small piece of hemlock the other day on my way out of the woods. I am thinking about building a raised footpath around the swampy edge of my pond. i was just playing around seeing how hard it is to free hand. far from perfect but they would work for a rickedy old footpath.

Seriously,it don't look that bad,did you use a ripping chain?Did you use a chalk line or did you just "eyeball"it?

All completely freehand. the log was 12'' or so so it was hard to keep it still while cutting (the log would try to roll that why a few cuts arent square). this was just regular Stihl chissel chain.

I noodled the short pieces and cut the long one from the end. the TSC toolbox is a POS but the price was right. see the saw holders i built onto the box?

Kobalt boxes are about the same. I had to play with the latch forever just to get it to hold. Ended up selling it, and I have been looking for a decent box since. Those holders are slick.

Well i wouldnt recomend the tsc box for quality but it was 150 bucks and i happened to have a 150$ gift card from work.
