I can see it now: getting paid by the ton to dump our chipper trucks!

I checked into making pellets for wood burning stoves last year. Takes a good bit more scratch than I can muster.

I checked on the same thing after Katrina. Huge piles of trees were piled in open fields and burned. Terrible waste. But, like you, I could not afford the pelletizing equipment without getting some outside investment and it is pretty late in my career to start a new business. Sure seems to me like it would be a good opportunity for somebody. Seems like it would be feasable to develop a portable pelletizing skid and chase some storms with it. FEMA contractors would be able to provide all the wood you could handle at LEAST for free, and probably would even pay you to take it.
