Right, i had a idea in the shower tonight after a long day of dragging brush and crap out of clients back yard with my bobcat 323 with its grapple on.

alot of the places i work are to steep for mini loaders and they make more mess then my digger so no i wont be getting one, but i had a idea of mounting a small (800-1000kg pull) Hydraulic winch to my excavator beside the boom for dragging brush up and along some of the bigger distances as my track motors arent liking the tracking and shovelling stuff up hills takes time.

any suggestions on brand of winch i should be looking for, its got to be compact as its going to live beside the boom mount on my digger.

Cheers Karl

Do you have a posthole digger? Set ya winch up the the spinning end. Should have plenty of power.

All my off road toys are equiped with a Superwinch. Never had a problem with one. Cant really bash Warn, but everyone has their brand :)

im looking at a hydraulic winch, but ive measured up the gap and im thinking of building my own now and setting it up like a high mount winch with a small hydraulic motor mounted above the drum then chain drive or gear drive down to the drum, do you think this would work.
