It was dry today. So I drove up a ways and went for a hike on a real trail.
2 years ago, pre Twinkle, I used a Saturday up to do some trail work on this trail. It had gotten hammered pretty well in places by the wind. These logs were too big for us, so we packed our saws over them. I think the work was contracted out to cut this section. Today was an easy walk through.

Here's the only logged part of the trail, and only on one side. I think this was harvested in the late 80s. Some big wood came out of here. I'm thinking it was a unit that they set up two high lead sides to get it out fast. The company was paying a million dollars a month for the wood. That was when we made money for the treasury. No mas.

The trail is on a ridgetop most of the way, but no views because of the trees.
Here's the embarassed used dog wearing pink by a pumpkin.

Yes, there is old growth left, but a lot of it on this ridge is starting to fade.

I just spent 5min trying to explain to my 8 yr old why you call your dog the "used dog". Will did like the panniers on the dog, said we should get some for our Lab so long as they aren't pink. Oh well, I not everyone is ready for pink panniers. Will also wants to know why you cut down that big tree in the first photo. Oh nevermind, this is my life, answering questions ad infinitum.

Thanks for sharing the pics!

He isn't a gay dog either. He has a couple of girlfriends, one blonde, one brunette. I just thought he needed a bright pack and I think it might be muzzleloading season so it is good to be seen.

Hmmmm, but he does have a high voice when he howls.

Good idea on the bright colors. Last week I was retrieving the garbage can from the road after dark. Missy ran up to me and I never saw her coming until she stopped right in front of me. I jumped straight up. The next day we bought her a glow in the dark bright pink collar.

Maybe he's just confused. Wearing pink panniers might do that.

Let me put it this way, it wasn't bear or elk and was in a diaper. That's why I'm extremely grossed out. Extremely. It was like Dog Candy.

At least he didn't do the coup de grass and roll in it!!!!

Sienna girl is a turd muncher, but fortunately its limited to mostly horse poopsicles and moose turds, which are frozen at this time of year and she doesnt roll in anyways. She does however enjoy those greasy red fox turds like expensive dark chocolate, these while also frozen this time of yr are the primary roll in target.
Not sure why they are so greasy, but standard doggie fuffu shampoo doesnt cut that grease a bit.Different dawgs have different limits on there disgustingness for some reason.
Bue healers its been my experience were the worst in terms of what could be considered prime "scoobie snacks".
Anyways, back to the trail,no excuse for tossin baby diapers imo.
