It was dry today. So I drove up a ways and went for a hike on a real trail.
2 years ago, pre Twinkle, I used a Saturday up to do some trail work on this trail. It had gotten hammered pretty well in places by the wind. These logs were too big for us, so we packed our saws over them. I think the work was contracted out to cut this section. Today was an easy walk through.
Here's the only logged part of the trail, and only on one side. I think this was harvested in the late 80s. Some big wood came out of here. I'm thinking it was a unit that they set up two high lead sides to get it out fast. The company was paying a million dollars a month for the wood. That was when we made money for the treasury. No mas.
The trail is on a ridgetop most of the way, but no views because of the trees.

Yes, there is old growth left, but a lot of it on this ridge is starting to fade.
