What method do you use to advertizes.

IE; Phone book,Word of mouth.

What works better.

What works the worst.

What do you think you need to do.

What don't you need to do.

Put what thoughts you have on the subject.
 
I think it depends on what it is you are selling. Lawncare, people get too many fliers on the door or direct mailers to get any results in the phone book. You dont get as many "scrubs" in arbiculture. I think people would look more for tree trimming in the phone book. Obviously for the best results word of mouth can never be beat. It will be a higher percentage sale over any other one.
 
It depends on how long you have been working too. Many people setteled n their niche relly on mostly on referals. I know several guys not in "the book". They are the ones that don't want to get any bigger then they are.

Others say they get some of their best work out of the yellow pages.

I don't know anyone who has had great sucsess in newspaper. Targeted mailing has done very good. I did some when I was with a big lawncare company. Took the accounts in certain zips and mailed out brocures.

Biggest thing is ask a question and no tools. I agree with John Ball, the customer don't care how many big saws you have, they want a good job. So put a nice looking tree there instead.
 
I advertise in a local paper The best advertizing I get is from word of mouth and referrals.I find that I make more money with referrals because people know that I have done a great job for one of there friends and expect thast I will do the same for them
