Does anyone know of a conveyor that isn't in the 5k or 6k range? I know theres some out there for 3k, but don't know who they are. Any ideas?

You could try to find a used farm one. There cheap, they almost give them away.

They are out there, just may need to take a drive to get one on the cheap.

I have talked with this guy and he seems real nice. I almost pulled the trigger and bought it, but it is a little longer than what I need.

PTO drive can be converted into a gas engine drive for cheap. It has a locked up bearing and a broken drive link. Both can be fixed and sourced locally for not to much. I figured i would have less than $500 into the whole thing and that includes a HF predator engine.

I just sold my 28' little giant grain elevator for $700. Depending on how much wood you are processing the grain elevators do not hold up. I went through 2 in the past couple of years. You spend more time fixing them than you do running wood. Unless you are just a homeowner I would bite the bullet and try to find a dedicated conveyor. Do a craigslist search for conveyors. There are a couple in Madison for sale right now. If you get to know how the search functions on craigslist works, its real easy to find stuff.

I have 3 hay/grain elevators and was bidding on a really nice shape one last Friday but didn't get it for $450. I like the grain elevators better because the slats are smaller and they seem to jamb less. The only thing I have done with my main one was change the electric motor one with another used one. I use a generator to power it usually. Dedicated firewood conveyors are pricy but if you are moving wood then you need a well built one. Even at $5000 it still works out to dollar savings over having a human move wood.
