Looking into getting an air spade , what are you charging for a service like this ?

How long is it taking you to do some air spade work ? How far does the dirt blast away from this thing ? Any problems with stuff flying and breaking windows or the like ? Do you use some sort of a screen around the work area ?

Just looking for some ideas. Thanks !

I am not sure what my company charges but I have used an air spade many times and have not had any problems with flying objects.

Dust is the problem, you need to figure around 20% loss of soil fines to drift, and if it drifts into the neighbors dinning room or clean laundry....

Length of time deprnds on the area, depth and soil structure. Eg sand is faster then clay and very wet and very dry become probelmatic too.

Use a respirator rated for fine particles, goggles and face shield, I like to wear a storm shell and gators to keep the corse fines out of my clothing. Theres no way sort of Tyvek to keep the fine fine stuff out of your drawers.

As for rates, what is your T&E worth? I go 80-100/mhr. unless I want to get on the property real bad.
