...and no place to go!
Truck is all set, oil changed, clean and presentable.
Chippers all set, oil changed, knives sharpened.
Saws are all set, chains sharp, spare chains sharp.
Gear is all cleaned up and ready. Rope coiled neatly like a cobra waiting to stike!
I am all set, got my winter fat burned off, ready to hit it hard!
Few jobs trickling in here but not even getting 25% of my quotes and starting to get those nagging doubts....
but looks like storm season starts tomorrow for Ohio so I guess I am gonna wait it out.:bang:

You could climb under the trucks and grease the suspenion if your bored, but I know the feeling, had it bad week an a half back. Hows your motavation holding up? Mines shot, and I have work, just have this 'whats the point?'' feeling. Gotta find some go-go juice.

You just gotta fool yourself into thinking it's somehow all worth it... something that seems to harder and harder to convince myself of each year.

But then spring finally breaks and it all begins again. It almost seems worth it... well, kinda, sorta. :msp_unsure:

Then you have the occasional moron that comes in here and starts talking #### about who climbs everyday, who takes the winter off, this and that... bragging about #### they don't even own, when all along, they just punching the timeclock for the man, riding the coat tails! Man that pisses me off! I say go make all your own money.. with all your own equipment, like I have for going into fourteen years now. Then come talk to me! Punkass #####.. anyone can type up a storm!

And if it was that easy to be self employed and work everyday, I suppose there would be alot more tree services with names like "Beowulf's Tree Service" popping up.

Just sayin'. :)

I'm ready, but still have projects in the shop. I've had a few jobs, didn't get a couple and passed on a couple lame leads. And still have winter fat to burn off.

This week is shaping up, I should get 3 or 4 going for sure, burn more fat and hopefully finish a project or two.

Motivation, check. All I have to do is think about how worthless it is to work for someone else. There is no turning back for me, it's all or nothing.

Good luck gentlemen.

If you have good signwriting on your truck, get them out there, work brings work.
Im looking forward to some shed time as we are in our first week of daylight savings being over and our wimpy excuse for a winter is on its way. We work solidly year round but its nice for the dark to creep in earlier to reduce the hours we can do.

Things will get busy soon and you will miss having some downtime.

As soon as we get a new government................

be ready to go to work!

a new year

Keep the faith! I go through this every year (13 and counting) Will the phone ring? should I drop my rates just to get work? Fuel, taxes, debt! how will I ever make it? I have found that if you get up and go out and work everyday things will work out. whether it is working on equipment, a marketing plan or just splitting firewood, keep moving forward. Always plan for success and know that we are all in the same boat, it's not just you or your company. Be safe, Be smart. Jim
