Does anyone else have a reaction to exaust from the Saw Soup Fuel. I got into quite a bit of it at the getogether at Gypo's last weekend and its just like people get from hay fever.

Nitromethane is brutal on your mucus membranes. I've seen tough guys brought to their knees by a good whiff of top-fuel exhaust. They warm nitro cars on alcohol, gives the crowd a false sense of security. Alcohol smells sweet when burned as a fuel. When the cars switch over to nitro people start dropping like flies. You think the bystanders would take a clue from the crew who are all wearing gas masks.

BTW; This site NEEDS spellcheck, or I do anyway!

I have seen some people Crofter have their eyes burn from the 120 fuel i use but i guess i am use to it now , it does nothing to me at all and now i like the smell of it running in the saws and when i smell that fuel and i know it is running well you just hang on , shut -up and get ready cause this is going to be a fast ride

are you sure it was the 120 fuel and not seeing that 021 run so fast or you were crying because your 365 was running faster than most 372's , just checking

hey how is that new chain coming , i hear you have cut your time by .5 of a second per cut

Crofter by the way i donot use bean oil so you can take castor off your list, you never had any trouble the first time did you? maybe it was not my fuel but someone else's fuel

EHP;
Maybe it was the concoction Stihlman36 was using, I heard him muttering what sounded like an incantation as he was pouring!
I have had some reaction from model glow engine fuel but I got a pretty good blast of raw exhaust a few times Sunday. That stuff does not burn too willingly at below zero temps. With the different pipes all running at times in pretty close quarters it was a bit hard to avoid. The way you worked bare handed all afternoon in that temperature tells me you are not human so I didn,t expect you to be affected! I will have to be a bit more careful of it though.

Ed I think that double ramshorn waveguide insert for the muffler is what is working for me; although you cant get the full tuned length of a pipe and suffer some from the restriction it sure does help. Now if I could only keep it on the sweet spot loadwise!

Frank

Sorry my fuel chart only goes to 0 degrees. So I tossed in a bit of this and a bit of that. I think ed had some of the same stuff in his but preferes to use a different lube.
Now as for my 021 I told ya it would be a good race with that 340 or that 029 Super that john supped up. With a bit of time and prep work I think I could make a 10" round cut in under .5.........

Hey thanks for the avitar!

I do believe I have the nose for the fuel tester job; along the lines of the ladies' panties and the "diesel fitter" joke!

The only sweet stuff that was in my blue gas was Shell high test gas and there xtc 50 oil and nitro ar alcohol never crossed my small mind , for me to run that stuff i would of thought that cheating and i was there for fun plus the xtc 50 oil will not mix with nitro or alcohol, I know that it is a ???? oil but i have done enough dyno runs to know this stuff works and i make more power because it will burn when mixed in a heavy mix
, i was running 20-1 mix

Crofter keep your mouth closed because what ever you are doing is working for you so donot let the cat out of the bag

Frank,
You may have smelled nitro methane that I was running in my saw at Johns, That's why all of my saws where so dominating?.
Stop down to Gypos and get the 1gal. gas can I left so you know what high test race gas smells like.
It amazes me how some can't tell gas from nitro. Just go down wind from Eds race saw and see how your eyes feel.
To the best of my knowledge (witch I get from Ed and some well know drag racers) Nitro dosn't mix with gas.
your chains did cut extremely well I would have to put you rite on top with your chains thanks for all the tips Just wish i could file.
BTW if you would be interested in doing some for hire let me know I'm interested!

Eric: I wish I had a more mechanised setup. By hand takes a way too much time. Each new (or pirated) idea you try, takes quite an investment in time to test it out. For the most part I am coasting on Art Martins collection of knowledge! I think he said "Thin to win" . From the fleeting glance I got at another chain from a filer of note, I'd say he uses the same basic theme. I dont know whether I can make it down to Dozerdan's Pow-Wow but I would like to have a few chains to swap around if I do. We sure see how important part of the equation is in the operator though!

I didn't time them, but here's the same saw running WJ gas and my pump gas- Supreme and 32:1 Mobil MX2T.
Wether Eric was running nitro or not was inconsequential, but what is important is wether it was faster. This movie is the PP346EHPipe-AM chain.
John

To eleviate any confusion that last movie was pump gas and 32:1 MX2T. This movie is WJ's magic gas. If it was faster then the saw being a bit warmer than the first cut may have helped it along.
John

I think the first cut was faster then the second, but if it was, it must be that lousey American gas.

No wait John I left that gas for you to get a bit more power out of the KD saw not the PP one those PP saws love nitro I am surprised you could hold it back that well.
Save some of that juice I just talked to Ed he wants to send it to the lab. He wants to figure out how I mixed nitro with gas.

Hi Eric, don't make me get out the shiny stick!
I'm not totaly sure, but I think possibly that the shiny stick KD may have quite feasibly could have cut a 2.93 which possibly may have put it #1 I think maybe, but not really sure though, but could maybe be though, um, ok?
John

Oh no please not the shiny stick it just way to fast!
If'en I would have remembered what stick it was in I think the PP346 with the Dave Neiger pipe cut two identical times with my self and Ed both. Em,ok I'm think'in it was 2.41.
BTW your not sleeping with my new eph2171 on funny fuel are you? watch the chain it may be sharper than it appears.
Get that header hear before the wolves get called out.Eric
