Hello All! A friend of mine in the Tree Industry is planning on retiring soon, and I'm slowly going to buy his large arsenal of equipment. Went ahead and bought one of his bucket trucks and got it home for inspection. He said the boom has been "Slow" for quite some time, getting more sluggish with every use. He has a local diesel shop maintain the truck chassis, and grease the boom fittings, etc. Well, I started looking around, operated it and it WAS quite slow. come to find out, the fix was simply cleaning the built up saw shavings and debris from around the pistol grip. Tooka shop vacuum and a good, long screwdriver and scraped and vacuumed away. Works like new! I only added this to the board to give someone a perspective on the maintenance side of the bucket upkeep.
Ok, my question. The boom is missing an inner sleeve/pvc looking piece that is commonly there on all these units. Anyone ever have to replace one, and have any direction to point me in? Wasn't sure if anyone had any experience on getting a replacement. I'm including a few pics ;-)
