the answer to your question is yes. if not for my 257 i would not have known about the 357. mine was one of the first in this country. it had problems. the tank vent would not allow enough air in as it burned off fuel and the saw would quit. i had to open the gas cap to vent it. cut for a minute(or less) and do it again. i contacted husky and they sent me a gas cap that had four holes in it and supposedly a one way valve. the problem i had with that was, working close to the ground the saw burned off fuel so fast it would pick up dirt and dust and that would hold the valve open. when we would get back to the shop, it would leak gas all over. i brought husky up to speed on this and they redesigned the tank vent to work. of coarse they took all the credit. i messed up because i got right on it. i should have waited untill more were out there and told them then. marty
