Boy I am just having so much fun tackling some stumps.

The ground was frozen and the stumps had rocks grown into it. The Stihl RS chain sure is not great at cutting rock!

I always feel a sense of accomplishment once they pop loose!

Which one of you guys threw your beer can under the stump. Look at the bottom of the rod. Amazes me what you find under stumps.

Look at the size of the rock under this baby! I will tell you it took all I had to flip this sucker over. But I wanted to get the rocks out so I could cut it up into pieces I could handle.

And here we go. Two dirty saws with dull chains inspite of 5 sharpenings but the stump is in pieces. The dirt between the roots is still frozen solid.

And now I can put my feet up and relax!

I think I would have let Mother Nature and Father Time take care of that nasty snag and saved my saws for something worthwhile.

I was thinking that same thing. Looking at those photos is like hearing fingernails on a chalk board. It's what I wake up at night sweating, imagining a saw I would lend out being used for.:)

I'm so anal about not cutting dirt that sometimes I will take an ax and strip the bark at ground level for a stump cut!

After hanging out here, I have done that more times than I'd admit and the other guys look at me like I'm nuts.:ices_rofl:

Aww.. It is just a tool that is meant to be used, not shined and admired!

That is what old bars and chains are for!

Beside that big old stump is in the way of progress!

I wish that I could say that that is the worst one that I have done!

Guess I must be getting old. I just don't have interest in working so hard so slowly anymore. Been there done that.
