I never see any talk of the ol Tanaka saws..

Whats the deal here? I love mine, good relaible saw, never lets me down.

I've got one. Great little top-handle saw! Picked it up at an auction a couple of years ago with a little Dynamark for $1 for the pair. Looked like they'd been sitting in a corner for years. Some fresh gas in the Tanaka and a little carb adjusting and it's run like a champ ever since.

Got a little ECS-320 top handle. Nice little saw that always works.

Remember: You can't knock a Tanaka!

Maybe they don't know , but some older Jonsered Top Handel saw's is made by Tanaka.

They are probably best known for their shaft driven Edgers...mean little suckers they are!

I like my ECS415. It is a rear handle saw, and the only plastic is the trigger, and the air filter cover. The rest is full metal construction.

Has anybody used or seen any of the larger Tanaka saws? I understand that they made 'em up to 60cc. Would love to try one of those larger models. Judging by this little 320, I'd suspect they would be pretty good saws.

This saw is pretty much the same as my older ECS 415.

okay, did some research, and mine is 40cc's.
320 is 32cc's

The largest saws they made were the ECS-650 and the ECS 655, both at 63 cc's.

Tanaka chainsaw

I have a Tanaka 290 top handle chainsaw, bought new from Montgomery Ward on sale in early 1980s. It has been fully reliable and powerful enough for small work. Now, I mostly use a 26cc Echo from Australia for pruning the smaller branches. It has nearly as much power as the 290 and a lot less weight.
