husky394 where at in PA is the chainsaw race? i would like to make it to that one.

I'm not 100% sure what the question is. There is chainsaw racing at all of them.

The show that have stocksaw racing are Harford, Bedford and Honesdale. These are all county fairs. BTW, Honesdale appears to have moved to Saturday the 5th.

Bedford is a smaller show with a saw provided stocksaw. It would be the ideal place to start competing.

Honesdale is 5 classes, run what you brung. Although I've never been there, I know some of the folks that do attend, even though the saw are stock, the chains are expertly filed race chains. Don't let this stop you from racing though. There is a steep learning curve in lumberjack sports, and you gotta start somewhere.

Harford was listed as over 3.5 cu. in. and under 3.5 cu. in. although last year the registration said saw provided. I couldn't say what they ran, cause I couldn't make it. I've been handed by a$$ there more that once, but I'm getting faster. Again, the saw are stock, but the chains are very good, and some of the folks put a little something extra in the gas tank. If its saw provided, you have a good a chance as the next guy.

The other show I posted is in Forksville on October 14-15, at the Sullivan County Flaming Foliage Festival. The 14th is a lumberjack Contest with hot saws and other events. The 15 (I origionally posted the 14th) is a chainsaw obstacle course. I'm not sure how they arrange this one, but others I've been to have you making a speed cut in a horizontal block a bore cut where you have to hit a mark on the other side of the block, a speed cut in a vertical block and a pole fell where you have to hit a stake with a falling 15' pole. You get penalties for not using the chain brake, cutting outside of the 1" lines on the speed cut etc. I get the idea that most of the pros from Saturday go home, and Sunday is more loggers and locals. The folks that run this show are great people. You can PM me for more details.
