Hi Guys,
I'm wondering if any of you have built an extension for your mills? I have a Woodmizer LT 15 and was looking at buying a couple extensions but they come out to about $100 per foot of track :dizzy: I've been looking for used ones on Craigslist but it isn't something that comes up often.

I then started thinking about building my own. I figure if I can buy the steel and have a welder friend of mine weld it up, I might be quite a bit ahead of the game. However, I did call around and a couple of the steel yards around me only supply to businesses and have minimum amounts you need to purchase.

If anyone has built an extension I'd love to see some pictures and hear any information you can give me, such as the size steel you used, if you had any problems with it, if you made any mistakes, or what you do to improve it if you were to build it over again?

Thanks guys.

You got a nice mill , looks like 4' would be plenty .I would buy the track and make it up running the mill unless your a welder with the resources to manufacture . Is the mill painted or powder coat ? Have you got to machine parts ?

Thanks John,
Unfortunately, WM only sells them in 6.5' sections, and I really need two of them, so the price adds up quickly! I've found a very helpful poster on another forum who has provided me with a lot of good information.
