Hi and thanks for keeping a great resource alive! Converted from lurker to member today.

Cut a ton of firewood as a kid but my current arborist activity is limited to maintaining about 200 trees on the homestead and doing cleanup/removal for friends family and neighbors.

Current brace of saws includes Echo, Stihl, Husqvarna and a communist China clone. Retired saws include some vintage McCullouch and a worthless Homelite. Brands don't interest me but performance sure does.

Presently cleaning and tuning saws to fight cabin fever waiting for arctic weather to end. Going thru my chains to get each saw set up with something sharp and aggressive. I like chips and can't stand dust. Can't stand a saw that screams due to high rakers or big safety humps either. This has led to a real rabbit hole trying to understand bar mount interchange and various Oregon chain styles.

My other current endeavor is shopping for a "felling" saw. Presently I have no bar over 18" and have found myself wanting for a 24 on some big cottonwood. Mulling a choice between a 72cc clonesaw, an ms400, or an echo 590/620. Wildly different price categories, not sure if I want a buy once/cry once, a cheap abuse it and loose it, or the value-leader.

Someday, I'll find time to improve my filing skills. Until then, I'm just keeping my tip out of the dirt!
